Stock market update: Nifty Bank index 0.63%

Shares of ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.56 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.01 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.67 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.6 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.36 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Punjab National Bank(down 0.85 per cent), Canara Bank(down 0.43 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.38 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 0.23 per cent) and Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.22 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.63 per cent at 53603.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 240.96 points at 24708.4, while the BSE Sensex stood 809.53 points at 81765.86.
