Stock market update: Nifty Auto index 0.65%

Shares of MRF Ltd.(up 3.1 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(up 2.82 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 2.79 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.32 per cent) and Apollo Tyres Ltd.(up 1.13 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 1.28 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.2 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 0.6 per cent), Exide Industries Ltd.(down 0.28 per cent) and TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 0.26 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.65 per cent at 23736.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 240.96 points at 24708.4, while the BSE Sensex stood 809.53 points at 81765.86.
