Stock market update: Nifty Auto index 0.75%
Shares of TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 1.07 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 0.81 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.7 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.32 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.16 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 3.47 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 3.09 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 2.97 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 2.55 per cent) and Exide Industries Ltd.(down 1.42 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.75 per cent at 23241.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 137.16 points at 24198.85, while the BSE Sensex stood 502.25 points at 80182.2.
