Stock market update: Nifty Auto index 1.34%
Shares of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 3.23 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.5 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 1.61 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.32 per cent) and Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.23 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 1.27 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 0.97 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.66 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.47 per cent) and Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 0.35 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.34 per cent at 23139.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 98.11 points at 23742.9, while the BSE Sensex stood 368.4 points at 78507.41.
