Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls
Gujarat State Fertilizer & Chemicals Ltd.(up 7.36%), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd.(up 4.79%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd.(up 3.07%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 2.90%), Madras Fertilizers Ltd.(up 2.62%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd.(up 2.50%), Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.(up 2.49%), Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd.(up 2.44%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd.(up 2.18%) and Krishana Phoschem Ltd.(up 1.81%) stood among the top gainers.
Agro Phos India Ltd.(down 2.39%), Aries Agro Ltd.(down 2.15%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(down 0.35%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products Ltd.(down 0.18%) and Coromandel International Ltd.(down 0.03%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 108.6 points at 23203.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 423.49 points at 76619.33.
Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 2.84%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.52%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 2.39%), Coal India Ltd.(up 2.33%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 2.21%), Bharat Electronics Ltd.(up 2.18%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 2.05%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.94%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.79%) and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.78%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
