Tata Group company Trent rallied 7.3% to its new all-time high of Rs 7,998 on the BSE today after launching its new lab-grown diamond (LGD) brand ‘Pome’ in Westside stores. Currently, the brand has been launched in select Westside stores in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Gurgaon). This seems like a pilot launch by Trent aimed to test the waters with SKUs in a Kiosk format.

«If I look at the overall PE of the mid and smallcap, obviously they look expensive, but there are pockets which look reasonably good,» says Sridhar Sivaram, Enam Holdings. You make a good case for it, for sure. But what has not been stable or at least when it comes to earnings and this is something that you have also brought up is what is going on with the mid and the smallcaps. Are you still firmly of the view that largecaps is a safer place to be? Sridhar Sivaram: So, actually, mid and smallcap, it is such a big basket that we do find interesting ideas there where we can see strong earnings growth, like power sector is something that we really like, a lot of the power equipment companies are in the mid and smallcap space and they are growing at, say, 30-40%, a lot of the EMS companies are in the midcap space, they are growing at 30-40%. Obviously, these stocks have also rallied. But we think where there is earnings support, these mid and smallcaps can continue growing.

realty firm Sobha dropped nearly 4% to Rs 1,675.3 in Tuesday's trade on the BSE following a 32% year-on-year (YoY) decline in total sales for the second quarter of FY25, amounting to Rs 1,178.5 crore. In comparison, the company reported total sales of Rs 1,723.8 crore in Q2 FY24. During this quarter, Sobha posted new area sales of 0.93 million square feet, generating sales worth Rs 1,179 crore at an average price realization of Rs 12,674 per square foot. This reflects a decline from 1.18 million square feet and sales of Rs 1,873 crore in Q1 FY25.

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. traded 1.45 per cent up at Rs 431.45 on Tuesday at around 11:56AM (IST), while the benchmark BSE Sensex advanced 442.78 points to 81492.78. As many as 21,958 shares changed hands on the counter with a total value of Rs 0.95 crore.

PI Industries Ltd. rose 0.63 per cent to Rs 4528.0 at 12:06PM hours (IST) on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, the stock saw a gap up start to the session. As per data available on BSE, total traded quantity on the counter stood at 3,042 shares with a turnover of Rs 1.38 crore till 12:06PM (IST). The stock traded at a price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple of 39.58, while the price-to-book value ratio stood at 6.74.

Shriram Finance Ltd. traded 0.82 per cent up at Rs 3329.7 at 12:02PM (IST) on Tuesday, even as BSE benchmark Sensex gained 364.01 points to 81414.01. The scrip had closed at Rs 3302.4 in the previous session. The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 3652.15 and 52-week low of Rs 1760.9, respectively. As per BSE data, total traded volume on the counter till 12:02PM (IST) stood at 138075 shares with a turnover of Rs 45.86 crore.
