Nifty Bank closed in the green for the third day in a row on Friday, which propelled the index above the 48,500 level in intraday trade. The index pared some gains but outperformed Nifty 50. The Nifty bank rose 430 points to close at 48,493, while Nifty 50 ended flat with a negative bias.

The Nifty 50 ended flat at 22513.70 points, and on daily charts, it’s suggesting that the index is consolidating after a sharp run-up, which is a healthy sign.

On the BSE, Vijay Textiles(down 10.34 per cent), Arcee Ind(down 8.44 per cent), Maha Corp Ltd(down 8.40 per cent), Axel Polymers(down 8.05 per cent) and Shiva Mills(down 7.93 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.
