Black hole sun: Astronomers find what may be the universe’s brightest object
quasar with a black hole at its heart growing so fast that it swallows the equivalent of a sun a day.The record-breaking quasar shines 500 trillion times brighter than our sun. The black hole powering this distant quasar is more than 17 billion times more immense than our sun, an Australian-led team reported Monday in the journal Nature Astronomy. While the quasar resembles a mere dot in images, scientists envision a ferocious place. The rotating disk around the quasar’s black hole — the luminous swirling gas and other matter from gobbled-up stars — is like a cosmic hurricane.“This quasar is the most violent place that we know in the universe,” lead author Christian Wolf of Australian National University said in an email. The European Southern Observatory spotted the object, J0529-4351, during a 1980 sky survey, but it was thought to be a star.

Small Modular Reactor Nuclear Power Plants can fuel growth in India’s far-flung areas: Russian expert
NPPs is not economically justified, while in others, it is impossible due to territorial features and the lack of power grids. In such cases, what Rosatom, the State Atomic Energy Corporation, offers for SMR NPPs may turn out to be the only right solution, according to Dr Dmitrii Samokhin, Head of the Nuclear Physics and Engineering department, Obninsk Institute for Nuclear Power Engineering of the National Research Nuclear University. Considering the list of sites in India for the potential placement of NPPs with a unit capacity of up to 300 MW, it becomes clear that there is a significant need, according to Samokhin. It may be pointed out that India and Russia are exploring SMRs as part of civil nuclear partnership The RITM-200 series SMR NPP is a pressurized water reactor (PWR). Its modifications are designed for nuclear icebreakers, land-based and floating SMR NPPs. The RITM-200 reactor was designed based on the experience of operation of SMRon Russian nuclear icebreakers (more than 400 reactor-years). Currently, eight RITM200 reactors are installed on the newest nuclear icebreakers Arktika, Sibir, Ural, and Yakutia. Six of them have been in operation on three icebreakers since 2020 and 2022. The technology has proven its effectiveness and maximum safety at all stages of the life cycle, including radioactive waste management.

So, in that sense, there is a much greater need and as traditional brick-and-mortar institutions would not be able to cater to it, we need partnerships.
