A groundbreaking study published in the European Heart Journal investigated the link between sleep timing and heart health. Researchers monitored 88,000 UK Biobank participants aged 43 to 74 over a seven-year period. Using wrist monitors to track their sleep patterns, scientists found that people who fell asleep between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM had the lowest risk of developing heart and circulatory diseases. However, for those who typically fell asleep between 11:00 PM and midnight, the risk of heart disease increased by 12%, while those who went to bed past midnight saw their risk spike by 25%.
