Nuvama Institutional Equities has initiated coverage on Waaree Energies with a ‘buy’ rating and a target price of Rs 2,805 per share, implying an upside of 25% from current levels, citing the renewable energy firm’s aggressive capacity expansion and strategic backward integration plans that position it to capture multi-decadal growth in India’s renewable energy and green hydrogen sectors. The brokerage said it expects Waaree’s revenue and EBITDA to grow at a compounded annual rate of 30% and 54%, respectively, over FY24–27, driven by a strong order book, capacity ramp-up, and margin expansion. «Waaree is prudently executing a long-term strategy of becoming a horizontally and vertically integrated New Energy play,» Nuvama said in a report.

«As far as other two-wheelers are concerned, by and large, they are doing reasonably well. We have to keep focusing from long-term on Bajaj. I do not see much of a problem there,» says Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Group Chairman, Inditrade Capital. Want to get your view on this entire auto space because today we have news flow coming in from Ola Electric on one end. On the other side, over the last couple of days, we have seen major auto players announcing price hikes that they will be rolling in from next month. markets UPS Booking wellness Trade shock What should you do now that wires and cables stocks are crashing? Gurmeet Chadha answers
Gurmeet Chadha, CIO & Managing Partner, Complete Circle Consultants, says despite the fall, Polycab still trades about 30-35 times forward. But Chadha thinks it is a bit of an overreaction. Also, earlier when UltraTech came, the stock corrected and we saw a bit of a recovery. With Adanis entering the fray, there has been another correction. The cable and wire business is very different from the cement industry which saw a similar disruption? Over a period of time, the industry itself is likely to grow with surging power demand, and revival in housing and infra. By the time the new companies would be operational, the market would have grown by another Rs 15,000-20,000 crore from about Rs 1 lakh crore now. So, he does not see much concern in the long run. What is your view on a beaten down sector like the wires and cables segment? What should an investor do if they are invested in this space right now and if they have some of these names like KEI or Havells or Polycab in their portfolio? Is this a move coming in on the back of news flow? It is just the one-time shock that is coming in and in the near future there is room for everybody to win in this space or do you believe that these new entrants could be creating more havoc than the Street is estimating at this point? Gurmeet Chadha: It is a bit of a parallel street drawing of what happened to Asian Paints when Birla came up with the Opus brand.

COST UPS Target Food show Japan's core inflation hits 3% in February, keeps alive BOJ rate-hike bets
The data came in the wake of Bank of Japan (BOJ) Governor Kazuo Ueda's warning, made after its decision to keep interest rates steady on Wednesday, that rising food costs and stronger-than-expected wage growth could push up underlying inflation. The increase in the core consumer price index (CPI), which strips away the effect of volatile fresh food costs, compared with a median market forecast of a 2.9% gain. That kept core inflation above the BOJ's 2% target for the 35th straight month. It slowed from the previous month's 3.2% rise due largely to the resumption of subsidies to curb fuel costs, government data showed on Friday. A separate index that excludes the effects of both fresh food and fuel costs, closely watched by the BOJ as a broader price trend indicator, rose 2.6% in February from a year earlier after climbing 2.5% in January. It was the fastest year-on-year increase since March 2024, when it rose 2.9%.
