Bazball against India spinners, a story for five-match Test series about to unfold
England's 'bazball' is set to face its biggest challenge as they gear up to face India on Thursday in the first Test of a five-match series on a likely spinning surface here which promises to test the batters' technique to its maximum potential. India skipper Rohit Sharma already stated that the way England plays isn't their concern but the story of the five-match series will be 'Bazball' against spin. The last time England ended with a series win on Indian soil was in 2012 when Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen batted to perfection but the series fell in the visitors' favour because of Monty Panesar, Graeme Swann and James Anderson's heroics with the ball.

North Korea says it tested a new cruise missile in the latest example of its expanding capabilities
North Korea said Thursday it conducted its first flight test of a new cruise missile, as it expands its military capabilities in the face of deepening tensions with the United States and neighbours. The report in state media came a day after South Korea's military said it detected the North firing several cruise missiles into waters off its western coast. The South's Joint Chiefs of Staff did not provide more specific assessments, including the number of missiles fired or their flight characteristics.

Spiritual surge: 'Ayodhya' may spell boom for pilgrimages and businesses all over India

Tesla will start making new EV model in second half of 2025
Tesla expects to start production of its long-anticipated, next-generation electric vehicle at its Texas factory in the second half of 2025, Chief Executive Elon Musk said on Wednesday. But Tesla shares were down 6.5% in premarket trading as Musk noted that ramping up production of the new vehicle would be challenging and Tesla also warned of sharp slowdown in sales growth this year before the new model launch. Musk said it would take «a tremendous amount of new revolutionary manufacturing technology» required — a sign that any boost to Tesla's declining pace of growth would take time. His projection followed a Reuters story earlier in the day saying Tesla had told suppliers to prepare for a June 2025 startup of a smaller crossover vehicle, critical for the automaker as it loses share to inexpensive EVs such as those made by China's BYD.

Carbon tax is a thorn. But that won't hold up free trade talks
NEW DELHI, MUMBAI : India’s free trade talks with the UK and European Union (EU) may skip the vexed carbon tax matter in an attempt to fast-track the trade deals, three people aware of the matter said. The absence of any agreement on the carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM) casts a cloud over Indian steel exports to the region, as it would raise the cost of exports and eat into profits. India is negotiating separate free trade agreements (FTAs) with the UK and EU.
