UPS Booking CEO Analysis Dreams reports guidelines India’s highest-paid bankers are from non-banks. RBI can’t do much about it—yet.
MUMBAI : India’s highest-paid banker isn’t Sashidhar Jagdishan, chief of the country’s largest private lender, HDFC Bank Ltd. That title goes not to Rajeev Jain, the CEO of Bajaj Finance Ltd, India’s largest non-bank, but to Abhay Bhutada, the recently retired chief of Pune-based Poonawalla Fincorp Ltd. Shadow banks such as Poonawalla Fincorp and Bajaj Finance have been able to shower their bosses with hefty salaries, bonuses and stock options as they reap the rewards of robust business growth.

markets UPS Art wellness social Department State emporia should shape up or shut down
Central Cottage Industries Emporium — once fondly known as 'Cottage' to craft lovers all over India — ended in disappointment this week. The unwieldy split-level store was almost entirely empty at 4 pm on a weekday afternoon; and that includes the staff as none were to be seen except for the doorman. The pottery department (my destination) was even more deserted as many shelves were empty, and the rest very sparsely filled. Now that there are crafts aplenty available both online and in stores, heading to a government-owned emporium was perhaps naive. Who goes there these days anyway? Only people of my generation or older, presumably, for whom these were once the only places to access India's amazing traditional art and crafts. The paucity of stores selling crafts in the bad old days of socialism made state emporia the only option for traditional weaves, homeware, and even gifts. Some of them were better than others, of course. During my college days, we were fans of mirrorwork kurtas and shawls from Gurjari; the best Chanderi and Maheshwari sarees were from Mrignayani (Madhya Pradesh), Utkalika was a favourite haunt not only for its Sambalpuri ikat sarees but also for patachitra paintings, Lepakshi for Pochampalli and pearls, Poompuhar for wooden Ganeshas and Tanjore plates, Phulkari for, well, phulkari....

UPS economy Election country peace Ukraine’s European allies are either broke, small or irresolute
The perfect European, or so the sarcastic quip goes, should drive like a Frenchman, cook like the Dutch, be as organised as the Greeks and as humorous as a German. A variant of the joke might haunt those trying to devise the perfect ally for Ukraine as it fends off Russian aggression. Imagine a country the size of Latvia, with the budget problems of the hard-up Italians, the willingness to pitch in of Kremlin-loving Hungarians and the arms industry of neutral Ireland.

UPS Digital CEO voice reports Schools Sebi diktat: Big impact if brokerages do not change their revenue model: Ajay Kejriwal
Ajay Kejriwal, CEO, Choice Equity Broking, says that from the investor's perspective, it is going to have an impact, more so from a trader’s perspective, because some traders had that benefit and some did not. Now all will be at par. And though it is minuscule on the client end, it will benefit the traders. Differential offering was the norm. The regulator, Sebi, came out and said no preferential rates, it should be uniform and now some of the biggest voices in technology-backed low-cost broking are coming out and saying that we may have to hike charges. What is the future? Is the zero broking era over and now, even if it is low, charges would have to be levied?

markets UPS Target Manufacturing country reports UP's sops for hybrid vehicles irk EV companies, add to industry's June sob story
electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers, especially as it comes hard on the heels of a plunge in June sales. It's also divided the industry, pitting those that are betting on pure electrics such as Tata Motors against those that prefer the hybrid route, like Toyota and Maruti Suzuki. Sales of electric cars in June plunged 13.5% from the year earlier, having suffered a marginal drop in May, triggering fears that the Indian market may be following global trends. After last year's euphoria, domestic sales slumped to 20% growth in the January-June period to 46,845 units.
