In 2001, Angelina Jolie portrayed the iconic heroine in «Lara Croft: Tomb Raider» and its 2003 sequel, «Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life.» In 2018, Alicia Vikander took on the role in a new film adaptation and will reprise it in the upcoming sequel, written and directed by Misha Green from "Lovecraft Country." The anime series will be scripted by Tasha Huo, known for her work on «The Witcher: Blood Origin» and «Red Sonja.» Executive producers include Dmitri M. Johnson, the founder and CEO of dj2 Entertainment, recognized for «Sonic the Hedgehog,» along with Stephan Bugaj and Howard Bliss. Jacob Robinson, under his company Tractor Pants, will also serve as an executive producer for the series.
