Sansera signs MoU with Karnataka to set up manufacturing facility at Rs 2,100 Crore
Sansera Engineering Limited on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Karnataka government to expand Sansera's manufacturing capacity in Ramanagara with an investment of Rs 2,100 crore. The facility at Harohalli, Ramanagara is expected to drive growth in both the automotive and non-automotive sectors.

Karnataka's bio-economy reaches USD 31 billion, to triple its bio-economy by 2030: Report
bio-economy reached USD 31 billion in 2023 and is growing at 10.7 per cent from USD 28 billion in 2022, said the Karnataka Bio-economy Report-2024, which was unveiled on Wednesday. The state attracted over 30 per cent of national biotech investments in 2023, contributing 21 per cent to India's bio-economy. Also, it contributes nearly 10 to 12 per cent of Karnataka's economy of USD 310 billion, the report said.

Zydus gets Mexican regulatory approval to market cancer treatment product
Zydus Lifesciences Ltd on Wednesday said the Mexican regulatory authority has granted marketing approval for Mamitra, a Trastuzumab biosimilar used to treat various types of cancer. Following the approval by Mexican regulatory authority COFEPRIS (Federal Commission for the Protection Against Sanitary Risk), for Mamitra, the drug will be marketed in different strengths of 150 mg and 440 mg, Zydus Lifesciences said in a regulatory filing.

She has said that though the Sahm rule is close to triggering, a recession is not imminent. Named after Claudia Sahm, the Sahm rule says that a recession appears on the horizon after the unemployment rate’s current three-month moving average exceeds the lowest three-month moving average of the trailing 12 months by half a percentage point or more. Pakistan Army sentences former officer to 14 years on sedition charges
Pakistan Army on Tuesday announced that it sentenced a former officer to 14 years of imprisonment on the charges of sedition. Retired Lieutenant Colonel Akbar Hussain was convicted and sentenced through Field General Court Martial (FGCM) under the Pakistan Army Act 1952 on charges of inciting sedition among army personnel from discharge of duties, according to a statement by the army. «The court of competent jurisdiction adjudged him 'guilty' of the offence charged, through due judicial process and awarded the punishment of 14 years rigorous imprisonment on May 10,» it stated. According to the sentence, the Rank of the officer was forfeited on July 26, it further said.
