The NSE Nifty index ended the session 21.21 points up at 24857.3, while BSE Sensex rose 60.14 points to 81415.98.
In the Nifty index, Tata Motors Ltd.(up 3.37 per cent), NTPC Ltd.(up 3.32 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 3.05 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 2.18 per cent) and Asian Paints Ltd.(up 1.71 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
