Air India Saturday announced that the airline has resumed operations from London's Heathrow Airport after the disruption following Friday's power outage. “Our operations to and from London Heathrow (LHR) have recommenced after the disruption at the airport yesterday due to a power outage. Today’s flight AI111 was on schedule and other flights, to and from London, are expected to operate as per schedule. Flight AI161 of 21 March, which was diverted to Frankfurt, is expected to leave Frankfurt at 14:05 pm local time,” Air India said in a statement. On Friday, Air India said its operations to and from the London Heathrow airport were disrupted, with one flight returning to Mumbai, another diverting to Frankfurt and other flights remaining cancelled due to a temporary suspension of operations at the airport.

Vinayak Society building in the Sayajipura locality, likely due to a short circuit, inspector MR Sangada of Bapod police station said. He said that the charred body of the victim, Kiran Rana, was recovered from the room where the fire originated. The body was found on a bed, suggesting that the victim might have died in his sleep, Sangada said. He said the deceased worked at a private firm and was alone in the flat when the blaze broke out, as his wife had left for work. A bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan refused relief to the woman, who is an assistant professor, stating that there was no ground for interference under Article 136 of the Constitution. «Both the first petitioner and respondent (husband and wife) are holding the same post of an Assistant Professor. Israeli military successfully eliminated Hamas' southern Gaza military intelligence chief, Osama Tabash, in an airstrike conducted on Thursday. In a statement, the military named the Hamas leader as Osama Tabash. It said he was also the head of the militant group's surveillance and targeting unit. There was no immediate comment from Hamas.

Heathrow Airport, one of busiest in the world, suffered a major power outage on Friday, the officials confirmed Saturday that its operations have returned to normal and are fully open today. On Friday, flights to and from London's Heathrow Airport were cancelled due to a fire at a nearby electrical substation that caused a significant power outage. The incident occurred just before midnight on Thursday, leading to the airport's closure until 11:59 p.m. on Friday for safety reasons. The London Fire Brigade responded with 10 fire engines and 70 firefighters, managing to contain the fire, although its cause remains under investigation with no signs of foul play.

overage vehicles, petrol pumps across the city are being equipped with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras from April 1, as per TOI. These ANPR cameras will help identify vehicles exceeding the age limits set by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), enabling petrol stations to refuse fuel to such vehicles. A senior official stated that the initiative aims to ensure better compliance with the government's directive by preventing older vehicles from accessing fuel at authorised stations across Delhi. As per NGT's order, the restriction applies to petrol vehicles over 15 years old and diesel vehicles older than 10 years. Environment Minister Manjinder Sirsa said on Friday, «To reduce vehicular pollution, devices are being installed at fuel stations throughout the city to identify such vehicles, and these cars will be denied fuel.» He further explained that the cameras read and digitalise number plates in real time. Delhi has nearly 500 fuel stations, and ANPRs are already installed at 80% of them. Sirsa mentioned that when an overage vehicle arrives for refuelling, the system will announce it as a defaulter. This system is connected to a central database that checks for violators based on their registration numbers, retrieving details from the government's Vahan portal. Delhi's government has deregistered over 59 lakh such vehicles till last September, with two-wheelers making up the largest share. However, many of these vehicles continue to violate NGT's guidelines and operate on the roads. Delhi began a drive to lift overage vehicles in March 2021. Sirsa added, «We are very serious on the issue of vehicular pollution, and this initiative is part of that.»

Mutual Fund (MF), ICICI Prudential MF, and Nippon India MF on Friday acquired a 4.12 percent stake in travel distribution firm TBO Tek for Rs 537 crore through open market transactions. TBO Tek is a technology platform engaged in the business of providing services related to tours and travel. A total of 44.72 lakh shares, or 4.12 per cent stake, in TBO Tek were acquired by the three mutual fund houses in three separate transactions on the BSE.

Telecom equipment sales have reached Rs 78,672 crore under the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme, of which exports contributed Rs 14,963 crore till January 31, 2025, the government has informed Parliament. As part of the scheme, companies have invested Rs 4,081 crore and generated employment for 26,351 individuals as on January 31, 2025, Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Minister of state for communications and rural development, said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha yesterday. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) had notified the PLI scheme on February 24, 2021, to boost domestic manufacturing of telecom and networking products in India with an outlay of Rs 12,195 crore.

There are around 8,000 refugees from Manipur who have taken shelter in several districts of Mizoram after the ethnic violence broke out in the neighbouring state in May 2023.

The appointment has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), headed by the Prime Minister. The Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI) was set up by the government on July 1, 1948, as the first development financial institution in the country.

During the month under review, IndiGo flew a total of 89.40-lakh passengers with a market share of 63.7 per cent, followed by the Air India Group, which transported 38.30 lakh passengers and chipped away with 27.3 per cent market share.
