Mumbai North Central voters treated me as family, hope to continue the relationship: Poonam Mahajan
Mumbai North Central MP Poonam Mahajan, who has been denied renomination by the BJP this time, has said people from the constituency treated her like a family for 10 years and she hopes the relationship would always continue. In a post on X on Saturday, Mahajan, who has been replaced by prominent lawyer Ujjwal Nikam, also thanked the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving her an opportunity to serve the people of Mumbai North Central constituency for 10 years. «I wish to continue on the path of 'nation first' shown by my late father Pramod Mahajan. I hope to walk on that path always,» she said. The BJP on Saturday denied ticket to Mahajan and instead picked Nikam, who was the special public prosecutor in Mumbai terror attack and 1993 serial blasts cases, as its nominee from the Mumbai North Central seat.

Why Nifty Bank has underperformed Nifty50 in the past one year
Nifty Bank index has given only 12.41% returns compared to 25.89% returns by the Nifty 50 index. Beneath this underperformance lies a story. Let us explore it in detail: Investors preferred public sector banks (BPSUs) to private sector banks. BPSUs largely finance institutional and corporate borrowers and private sector banks are known for catering retail credit needs. Despite strong credit offtake, stocks of private sector banks did not do well. There is a reason. Private sector banks were richly valued compared to BPSUs. In a high interest rate regime, value conscious investors preferred to stick to BPSU. The PSU rally also improved the sentiment around PSU bank stocks. However, these stocks have a relatively low weight (around 15%) in the Nifty Bank index. Hence the positive impact on Nifty Bank Index was not as much.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday received minor injuries while getting into her helicopter on Saturday from Durgapur on her way to a public rally in Asansol Constituency's Kulti for BJP candidate Shatrughan Sinha. Congress leader disgruntled over no Muslim candidate of party in Maha will be 'compensated': Mallikarjun Kharge
Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday said that it was due to a «misunderstanding» that a leader from Maharashtra had expressed his resentment over the party not fielding any Muslim in the Lok Sabha polls in the western state. Without naming the disgruntled party leader, Kharge said that he would be «compensated», maintaining that Rajya Sabha and assembly elections in Maharashtra were also due. «To say that no Muslim candidate was fielded is wrong. It is a three-party alliance there (in Maharashtra) and mutual decisions were taken,» the Congress chief said at a press conference here. He was reacting to a question on the Maharashtra Congress leader (Naseem Khan) criticising the party for not naming any Muslim candidate in the western state, where the Congress is fighting the Lok Sabha polls as part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi along with Udhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
