United States 10-year Treasury yields soared above 4.8% on Oct. 3, their highest level since 2007. DoubleLine Capital CEO Jeffrey Gundlach said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the spread between the 2-year and 10-year Treasury yields has narrowed from 109 basis points a few months ago to 35 basis points. He cautioned that this “should put everyone on recession warning.”

The United States legislators in the House and Senate came to a temporary agreement on Sep. 30 and averted a government shutdown for 45 days. This news could have acted as a catalyst for Bitcoin’s (BTC) sharp rally on Oct. 1. Additionally, the historically strong performance of Bitcoin in October could have boosted sentiment further.

The XRP price has risen by 1% in the past 24 hours, with its move to $0.523743 coming as the cryptocurrency market as a whole increases by just over 3% today.

Meanwhile, Edul Patel, CEO & Co-founder of Mudrex, said, «Bitcoin's value climbed beyond the $27,200 threshold on Friday before stabilizing above the $26,900 level. This upward shift may be attributed to Valkyrie Funds LLC, an investment management firm, obtaining regulatory clearance from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to introduce Ethereum futures to its current Bitcoin futures exchange-traded fund.»

Toncoin, and Solana were trading with gains, while XRP, BNB, Cardano, Dogecoin, and Litecoin were trading with cuts. Bitcoin (BTC) rose 0.7% to $26,419, whereas Ethereum (ETH) was above the 1,600 level. Meanwhile, the global cryptocurrency market cap was trading higher, around $1.06 trillion, rising 0.6% in the last 24 hours. BTC has managed to maintain its position above the $26,000 level, even as the S&P 500 experienced a significant drop to a three-month low and the US dollar index (DXY) reached a new year-to-date high. This relatively stable performance is viewed as a positive sign, indicating a lack of aggressive selling at lower price levels, said ZebPay Trade Desk. In today's trade, Solana, Toncoin, and Ethereum rose up to 3%, while XRP, Litecoin, and Cardano declined up to 1%.

Bitcoin (BTC) is attempting to trade above $27,000 which is a positive sign. In the past few days, Bitcoin’s price held up above $26,000 in adverse conditions when the United States dollar index (DXY) was rising sharply and the S&P 500 index (SPX) was plunging. This suggests that selling dries up at lower levels.

XRP has bounced by 2% in the past 24 hours, with its price rising to $0.509501 as the wider crypto market records a similar gain in the same space of time.

Meanwhile, Edul Patel, Co-Founder & CEO of Mudrex, said, «Bitcoin’s price has consolidated above the $26100 level. This could be because of the US 10-year Treasury yield moving up to 4.55%, matching its highest level in about 16 years.»

The XRP price has risen by 0.5% in the past hour, with its jump to $0.502420 coming as the altcoin's 24-hour trading volume almost doubles that of its nearest rival in terms of market cap, BNB.

Dogecoin ($DOGE) is highly volatile after a mix of news caused uncertainty in its market. Elsewhere, TRON ($TRX) turned bullish as more developments were implemented on its network. Yet, Borroe.Finance ($ROE) still dominates the cryptocurrency space, delivering 50% profits for early investors. 

Bitcoin (BTC) managed to stay above the $26,000 level even as the S&P 500 tumbled to a three-month low and the US dollar index (DXY) rose to a new year-to-date high. This is a mildly positive sign as it shows a lack of aggressive selling at lower levels.

The crypto market has traded sideways with slight buying pressure. Continuing its oscillation between the neutral and fear zones, the crypto fear and greed index is back in the fear zone with a score of 46/100 after shedding off a point since yesterday. Markets at large, including crypto and even global equities, are currently dealing with the rate hike concerns and rising treasury yields, said Shubham Hudda, Senior Manager, CoinSwitch Markets Desk. Barring Solana, Toncoin, and Shiba Inu, all major crypto tokens were trading higher on Tuesday. BNB, XRP and Polygon gained up to 2%.
