UAE student has been named in the prestigious top 50 Global Student Prize 2023 shortlist. Gadhia was picked from a pool of nearly 4000 applications received from 122 countries. He is currently studying at Dubai College in the UAE.
The Global Student Prize, sponsored by Chegg.org, is an esteemed award of $100,000 presented annually to an outstanding student who has made a significant impact on learning, the lives of their peers, and society at large. Started in 2021, its primary goal is to provide a platform that recognizes and celebrates the exceptional efforts of students who have gone above and beyond in their pursuit of academic excellence and making a positive difference in their communities and the world. The prize is open to all students aged 16 and above, enrolled in any academic institution or participating in a training and skills program.
Part-time students and those engaged in online courses are also eligible for consideration. According to reports, Vansh Gadhia, who hails from Kenya, has shown immense dedication to combating inequality and has earned remarkable achievements in international debating, public speaking, mathematics, and coding competitions. As per Khaleej Times, Vansh Gadhia, who was diagnosed with short-sightedness at the age of 10, decided to make a positive impact by helping underprivileged children in Kenya who couldn't afford glasses.
He took the initiative to approach Al Jaber Opticals, seeking their support in manufacturing free glasses for these kids. Under his project, an impressive number of 63,000 Kenyan children have received 500 free frames with tailor-made lenses, providing them with improved vision and better opportunities for their future.
