Shikhar Dhawan recently shared a glimpse of his emotional journey post-divorce on his Instagram account.
The cricketer, who has been going through a challenging period after his divorce from ex-wife Aesha Mukerji, expressed his love for his son, Zoravar, through a touching video call.
The Instagram post captured a screenshot of the heartwarming call, where Dhawan's radiant smile contrasted with the backdrop of his son's room in Australia, portraying an unspoken connection between father and son.
Accompanying the image was a line from a Gulzar poem, «Ek Ajeeb Si Betaabi Hai Tere Bin, Reh Bhi Lete Hai Aur Raha Bhi Nahi Jaata,» adding depth to the emotional moment.
Dhawan's public revelation of this interaction shed light on the challenges he has faced in his personal life, particularly the difficulty of being away from his son due to the international nature of their relationship.
The post not only struck a chord with fans but also garnered immense support from his peers and followers.
Cricketer Harbhajan Singh expressed his solidarity with a red heart emoji, while fans flooded the comments section with words of encouragement.
Dhawan's divorce, granted on October 4, on grounds of mental cruelty, marked a significant new chapter in his life. He had not been living with Mukerji since August 8, 2020
Although the family court did not pass any order on permanent custody of the couple's eight-year-old son, it granted visitation rights to Dhawan to meet his son for the appropriate duration in India and Australia, and also to chat with him over video call.
It also ordered Mukerji to bring the child to India for visitation purposes including overnight stay
