Uttar Pradesh government is all set to hold the UP international trade show from September 21 to 25 in Noida. According to a Times of India report, around 20 manufacturers of electric vehicles (EV) will participate in the show.
As per a report in the Times of India, EV manufacturers like Kia, Mahindra, Tata Motors, Maruti, Toyota, BMW, SKODA, and Force Motor will showcase their products, to promote the use of electric vehicles in the city.
The state transport department has also been told to arrange for an EV zone.
Siyaram Verma, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) of GB Nagar, stated that he had held discussions with representatives from various EV manufacturers to facilitate their participation. «The manufacturers will display a variety of electric vehicles, including cars, bikes, buses, and e-rickshaws during the trade show,» Verma revealed.
Furthermore, the transport department has reached out to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) to seek support for this initiative.
The Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy 2022 reports significant growth in EV adoption. In 2021, Uttar Pradesh registered 66,701 EVs across all segments, a number that surged to 3,37,180 in July 2022. This increase contributed to a total of 13,34,385 EVs in India at that time. The policy underscores the state's commitment to fostering sustainable and clean mobility solutions, with the goal of becoming a leading state in India for electric vehicle adoption.
