Parul University has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the exclusive institution in Western India to be a part of the National Taskforce for an INDIA-EMS Research Project on Emergency Medicine. The project, aimed at developing a High-Quality Patient-Centric Integrated Model for Emergency Care Systems in selected districts of India, has secured a substantial funding grant of 4.7 Crores from the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR).
The Parul Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, recognized among the top 5 national task forces, is spearheading this initiative to advance medical excellence and enhance quality measures in alignment with state and national objectives. The INDIA-EMS project, an implementation research initiative funded by the ICMR, is dedicated to improving the emergency medical system in India.
With a focus on setting effective benchmarks in global healthcare, the project covers a wide spectrum of emergency conditions, including stroke, myocardial infarction, trauma, snake bites and poisoning, burns, neonatal, and maternal care. The inclusion of various districts in India, such as Ludhiana, Vidisha, Puri, Puducherry, and Vadodara, positions Parul University as the sole institution in the western region participating in this crucial national task force project.
Recognizing the critical role of time in emergency situations, the project aims to reduce time barriers by implementing improved interventions. Another key objective is to bring together healthcare professionals, hospitals, and state officials to establish a more functional healthcare system, ultimately helping India set a benchmark in the field of medicine.
