Suraj Rajbhar, aged 10, and Durga Devi, aged 48, were struck by lightning in the Shadiabad area. In response to these unfortunate events, the district administration has announced that the family members of the victims will receive financial assistance in accordance with established norms. The administration will proceed with post-mortem examinations of the deceased individuals to facilitate the necessary support.

The District Administration confirmed that five individuals were electrocuted in Barwa Sagar, falling under the jurisdiction of Mehnagar police station, while another incident claimed the life of one person in the Maharajganj area. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences on Tuesday for the lightning-related deaths in Azamgarh and Ghazipur districts.
He announced a relief amount of ₹4 lakh to support the families of the deceased and instructed officials to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured individuals.
