Biryani maintained its reign as the most-ordered dish on Zomato for the ninth consecutive year. Indians ordered a staggering 9,13,99,110 plates of biryani in 2024, translating to more than three biryanis being delivered every second. The dish’s popularity also reflected on Swiggy, underscoring its status as the nation’s culinary favourite.
Following biryani, pizza secured the second spot, with Zomato delivering 5,84,46,908 pizzas across the country.
While coffee remains a staple for many, tea once again emerged as the preferred beverage among Zomato users. Indians ordered 77,76,725 cups of tea through the platform, compared to 74,32,856 coffee orders in 2024. Despite its association with mornings, tea's popularity spans across occasions, solidifying its position as a household favourite.
