Lok Sabha that 519 Indian nationals were deported from the United States, for being declared «unauthorised to stay» by American authorities, within a year's time, says a TOI report.

Replying to questions by TMC member Mala Roy on the deportation of Indians from USA, minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Azad told the Lower House in a written reply that, «as per US government data, a total of 519 Indian nationals were deported to India during the period November 2023 to October 2024. Deportations are carried out by the US government through commercial and chartered flights.»

The junior external affairs minister was asked about «The number of Indians, both men and women, deported from the US during the last year… and the actual reason(s) for the deportation of Indians from US.»
