The incident occurred in the early hours of February 10 in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. In the morning, emergency responders arrived at a home on Merganser Way, where flames had engulfed the two-storey residence.
Six adults escaped, with some jumping from second-storey windows to save their lives. All of them had to be hospitalised with injuries. However, two dogs couldn’t make it and did not survive.
Authorities quickly determined that the fire had been intentionally set. Surveillance footage from a nearby home captured a black sedan stopping near the house just minutes before the fire. A man was seen exiting the vehicle, walking towards the home with an object, and returning to his car about 15 minutes later. Shortly after he fled, an explosion occurred, and the house was fully engulfed in flames.
