90 detained, all rioters will be punished: Haryana CM Manohar Lal

Nuh and its adjoining areas in Gurugram, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Wednesday said those who are responsible for violence will be held accountable for all the losses of private properties. In the aftermath of the violence in Nuh, the state government has cleared all the land-related hurdles for setting up a camp of CRPF's anti-riot unit, Rapid Action Force (RAF), at Indri village in the district, nearly five years after the approval from the Centre. The CM also sought four additional companies of central forces and said an India Reserve Battalion will also be deployed in Nuh.

Twenty companies of central forces are already deployed in Haryana — 14 in Nuh, three in Palwal, two in Gurugram and one in Faridabad. Six people, including two home guards and a cleric, have died in the clashes that erupted in Nuh over an attempt to stop a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession and spread to Gurugram over the past two days. Appealing for peace at a press conference in Chandigarh, Lal said those who are responsible for the violence will be held accountable for all the losses of private property.

However, the state government will incur any loss of public properties that was caused during the communal violence, he added. He also informed that 116 people have been arrested and 90 detained since Monday's clashes in Nuh. On cow vigilante Monu Manesar's alleged role in triggering the violence, Khattar said he was booked by the Rajasthan Police and added that his government will provide any assistance they require to nab him.
