«We are launching a first of its kind camp in India. We aim to give service to 23-24 lakh people in the Constituency. The doctors will give free health services, medicines, testing facilities, an awareness booklet, unique IDs to the people who will come to the medical camps,» Banerjee said.
He urged all to participate in the camps. «Those who have voted for me or have not voted for me-all are my people in the Constituency. This camp is for all and people of all caste, creed and religion can take the services. So, we invite all to come to the camps,» he added.
Over the next 75 days, «Sebaashray» health camps will be held across Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha constituency in all seven assembly constituencies. Around 40-50 camps will be organised every 10 days with around 300 camps across.
«The initiative have been undertaken for the first time in India. Around 1200-1400 doctors have been brought together under one roof for the purpose,» Banerjee said.
