Adam Johnson, a 29-year-old American professional ice hockey player, tragically passed away after suffering a severe injury during a game on Saturday.
Johnson, who showcased his talents for the Nottingham Panthers in the UK, was competing against the Sheffield Steelers at the Utilita Arena Sheffield.
During the match, the dreadful accident occurred, where Johnson is believed to have been inadvertently struck in the throat by another player's skate blade.

According to reports from The Daily Mail, following the incident, Johnson bravely attempted to skate back to his team's side but collapsed shortly after.
