Adani Group's sports division, Adani Sportsline, has announced that it has won the transparent and competitive bid for the management and upkeep of the 44,543 square meter Sabarmati Riverfront sports parks on the east and west sides of Ahmedabad. The Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation has created sports parks as part of the Smart Cities initiative to provide top-notch training and facilities with the amenities needed for competitive sports. These sports parks are equipped with jogging tracks, gymnasiums, cricket fields, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, as well as children's play areas and skating rinks.
The state-of-the-art riverfront sports complex hopes to host national and international tournaments soon and become the preferred destination for budding athletes and enthusiasts. Adani Sportsline claimed that by building training academies at the facility to provide top-notch coaching, it will begin a journey to promote change at the grassroots level. It added that the coaching staff at the academies will be qualified to work with athletes of all skill levels.
It aims to create world-class athletes by equipping them with the best infrastructure and training. The company owns and operates teams that participate in national and international leagues such as BCCI’s Women’s Premier League, International League T20 in the UAE, Pro Kabbadi League, and Ultimate Kho Kho League, among others. Over and above that, it also supports talent at the grassroots level through the ‘#GarvHai’ initiative and provides financial support and training to promising athletes.
