Aequs has bagged a 10-year contract to make parts for Airbus’ A320, A330neo and A350 aircrafts.
Under the terms of the agreement, Aequs will make detailed parts, and parts with bench assembly for wings, fuselage, and pylons for Airbus’ including its popular single-aisle family of aircraft over the period of the contract.
Aravind Melligeri, Chairman of Aequs, said, “This contract is a significant moment in Aequs' journey with Airbus.
It is also a testimony to the confidence in Aequs by global OEMs to enter into a deeper and longer relationship, particularly at a time when the global supply chain is passing through a recalibration. This stems from the robustness of the Aequs Aerospace ecosystem and its supply chain robustness.”
Aequs has been a longstanding supplier to Airbus, which was its first original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customer and has consistently been a preferred Detailed Parts Partner (D2P) partner to it for well over a decade now.
The company had also won the Airbus Innovation Award in 2016 in recognition of the Aequs Aerospace special economic zone (SEZ) at Belagavi.
Earlier this month, Airbus also signed contracts with Dynamatic, Gardner and Mahindra Aerospace for the supply of airframe and wing parts across Airbus' A320neo, A330neo, and A350 programs.
Last month, Aequs had raised $54 million (Rs 448 crore) in equity funding from a clutch of investors led by Singapore-based Amansa Capital.
NR Narayana Murthy’s family office Catamaran and Desh Deshpande's investment arm Sparta Group were the other investors. This followed an earlier round of Rs 225 crore in April 2023 led by Amicus Capital, which was used to scale up manufacturing in its aerospace vertical.
