The Australian Financial Review’s Neil Chenoweth and Edmund Tadros have picked up a clutch of wins in the 68th Walkley awards for excellence in journalism for their coverage of the PwC tax leaks, one of the biggest stories of the year.
Chenoweth and Tadros were awarded the Gold Walkley — one of the industry’s top honours — for their coverage of the scandal, which ultimately led to the break-up of the accounting firm in Australia and the biggest crackdown on misconduct by tax advisers in Australian history.
They also won awards in the business journalism and investigative journalism categories during the night.
The pair, together with columnists James Thomson and Joe Aston and The Fin podcast team, Lisa Murray, Alex Gow and Lap Phan, were recognised with the award for coverage of a major news event for the PwC story.
