Joanna Mather has been appointed Wealth Editor. Jo brings deep experience to her new role, having previously covered the tax, superannuation and personal finance rounds and most recently been deputy news director for the past two years. After joining the Financial Review as education reporter in 2008, Jo spent four years in the Canberra bureau, covering two election campaigns, before returning to Sydney.

Ronald Mizen is moving to a senior reporting role based in the Parliament House bureau, covering the intersection of business, politics, economics and the law. He will dig deep into policy debates, the lobbying industry and scrutinise how Canberra conducts itself. Ron will also lead our coverage of the big regulators, including their own conduct and how they shape policy and business behaviour.
Michael Read has been appointed economics correspondent. Mike joined the Financial Review in April 2021 having previously worked as an economist at the Reserve Bank and investment bank UBS. He holds a Masters of International and Development Economics from Yale University and a Bachelor of Economics with first class honours from Sydney University. In the short time he has been working as a journalist Mike has shown a natural flair for reporting, a determination to break stories and an ability to unpack complex topics.
