Afraid, the new Sony Pictures film, produced in collaboration with Blumhouse, will be available on Netflix in the United States and other regions in the coming months and years. The Chris Weitz horror film was released in theaters around the end of August 2024.
The film's production company, Blumhouse, has garnered reputation as a horror connoisseur in recent years. Worst Roommate Ever and Worst Ex Ever are just two of the recent projects on which it collaborated with Netflix. The Purge, Get Out, Insidious, and Paranormal Activity are some of the other well-known films that the studio has produced. All of these films have received positive reviews from critics and a devoted fan base.
Taking advantage of the AI craze, the film centers on a family chosen to test a new AIA home assistant that can understand the needs and preferences of its users. Everything possible goes wrong in the movie.
The film stars David Dastmalchian, Keith Carradine, Katherine Waterston, Havana Rose Liu, and Lukita Maxwell, with John Cho leading the cast.
