Devendra Fadnavis wrote a letter to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday evening, objecting to the inclusion of Nawab Malik into his faction, the NCP has responded with a vague statement, neither confirming nor denying Malik's association with the party.
“ Nawab Malik has been our senior colleague for several years. He has no connection to the developments (split) in the NCP that have taken place in the recent past.
Since his illness and his release on bail, we(NCP) met him as old colleagues and did not have any political discussion. Today when he came to the Assembly, interacting with him is natural as we are old colleagues.«posted State NCP President of the Ajit Pawar faction,Sunil Tatkare.
Ajit Pawar has retweeted Tatkare’s post.
Tatkare’s post on ‘X’ came after Fadnavis had written a letter to Ajit Pawar earlier in the day after Malik was seen sitting in the ruling party benches. “Considering the serious allegations against Nawab Malik it is not proper to induct him into our alliance.
Power comes and goes but the country is supreme. If the allegations against Malik were not proved then definitely Malik could be welcomed, however Malik is out only on medical bail.”wrote Fadnavis in a letter that his office also posted on ‘X’social media.
Fadnavis claimed that while it was the prerogative of Ajit to induct who he wanted into his party but added, “Due to this (induction) there should not be any adverse impact on our alliance and that should be taken into account.
