After losing Delhi, AAP has plans to rise stronger with fresh leadership shifts; Here's what Kejriwal & Co. are planning
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to hold a meeting of its Parliamentary Affairs Committee at Arvind Kejriwal's residence on Friday. The meeting is expected to focus on the party's strategies for Delhi and its expansion plans in Punjab, Gujarat, and Goa.
Atishi to Take Charge in Delhi
After AAP's defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections, Atishi, a former Delhi minister, is expected to take the lead role in the national capital, as per an ANI report. As the Leader of the Opposition (LoP), Atishi will handle political strategies to counter the BJP-led Delhi government. She will focus on forming strategies for the assembly and leading major political attacks against the government. However, important decisions will still need approval from the party's top leadership.
Meanwhile, the organisational work of the Delhi unit will continue under state convenor Gopal Rai. His role will include strengthening, expanding, and reshuffling the party's structure. Sources suggest that after the PAC's approval, the Delhi unit might see significant restructuring next month.
Focus on Punjab
For Punjab, former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and ex-Health Minister Satyendar Jain will take charge. They will work closely with the state convenor and office bearers to implement the central leadership's goals. Sisodia will also monitor the Punjab government's performance and ensure that AAP's promises are delivered.
Both leaders are expected to help the Bhagwant Mann government strengthen the «Punjab Model» in health and education. Their role will be crucial in bridging the gap between AAP's central leadership and the Punjab unit.
