Andhra Pradesh has recruited Sarin Paraparakath as senior vice-president of the newly constituted Economic Development Board. Paraparakath was senior VP at Guidance Tamil Nadu, the southern state’s investment promotion agency credited with bringing big-ticket investments.
So far, Tamil Nadu has been the most favoured state, after Gujarat, for investors because of easy single-window processes aided by Guidance.
Paraparakath joined the Andhra Pradesh agency on January 2. It is a big jolt for Tamil Nadu as he was in charge of all inbound investments.
His recruitment is the first step towards strengthening the Economic Development Board, which had become almost defunct with skeleton staff under the previous Jaganmohan Reddy government.
