Governor-General’s XI gears up to take on England in a 50-over match at North Sydney Oval on January 9, 2025.
The match, a long-standing tradition, will feature a mix of Australian stars and rising talents, showcasing the depth of women’s cricket in the country.
The squad, named by Cricket Australia's National Selection Panel in collaboration with Governor-General Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, includes Sydney Sixers legend Alyssa Healy, who is making her return from a knee injury.
Victorian Nicole Faltum will captain the team, with Queensland’s Charli Knott serving as vice-captain. The squad also features Leading Aircraftwoman Samantha Quadrio, representing the Australian Defence Force, alongside established players like Darcie Brown, Georgia Voll, and Heather Graham.
Former Australian cricketer Nicole Bolton, now an assistant coach with South Australia and the Adelaide Strikers, will coach the team. Bolton’s extensive experience as both a player and mentor adds a unique edge to the squad.
