After a six months gap, the actress is now active again on Instagram. She made her first post since her much-publicised trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp, who sued her after she accused him of domestic violence in a 2018 op-ed published in The Washington Post. On June 30, the ‘Aquaman’ actress shared a picture of her smiling and wrote, “Thank you for such an incredibly warm reception at the Taormina Film Festival for my latest movie In the Fire.
It was an unforgettable weekend. #InTheFire.” The period drama marks her cinematic comeback since the trial. Helmed by Conor Allyn, the movie revolves around a doctor who visits a remote plantation in 1890 to treat a boy with supernatural abilities.
Soon she gets into a war between science and religion as the villagers believe the child has been possessed by the Devil. Heard made her first public appearance since the trial at the 69th Taormina Film Festival in Italy, where her film premiered. The post received about 201K likes.
One Instagram user wrote, “There’s our girl!” Another commented, “Miss that smile.” In 2016, Heard filed for divorce and accused Depp of abusing her under the influence of alcohol. At that point, Depp dismissed her claims, stating that she was after a premature financial resolution. The pair divorced in 2017.
