American Idol is returning with its 22nd season with it’s premiere on ABC on Sunday. The show marks the return of the judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Katy Perry, besides host Ryan Seacrest.
The show will be searching nationwide to identify the amateur most talented singers in Nashville, Los Angeles, Tennessee, and the hometown of the judges. After the narrowing down of the contestant's field by the viewers and the judges, a winner will emerge and receive a management contract as well as a record deal with a major label.
The show also brings in icons of the industry such as Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Stevie Nicks, and Jon Bon Jovi to mentor and perform beside the contestants in the season.
