Ahead of the June 4 results of Andhra Pradesh Assembly Election 2024, India Today-Axis My India exit poll has projected a thumping win for the TDP-BJP-JSP alliance in the state. According to the exit poll, the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Results are likely to see the alliance winning as many as 120 out of 175 seats in the state Assembly. In terms of the breakup, while Telugu Desam Party is predicted to win 55-77 seats, ‘Power Star’ Pawan Kalyan’s JSP is projected to win 16-18 seats and the BJP is likely to bag up to two seats in Andhra Pradesh. On the other hand, incumbent YSR Congress is predicted to win 55-77 seats.
The India Today-Axis My India exit poll have painted a similar picture like several other forecasts that show incumbent Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy going out of power after June 4. Not only state polls, YSR Congress may also suffer a huge setback in the Lok Sabha polls in the state. Multiple exit polls show big gains for the NDA. Out of the 25 seats in Andhra Pradesh, the NDA is likely to win nearly 20 seats. Out of these, TDP is projected to bag as many as 15 seats. BJP, which contested on six seats in Andhra Pradesh, is predicted to win between four and six seats. If these exit polls hold true, BJP’s strike rate will impressive 80 to 100 per cent.
Talking about the reason behind what went in favour of TDP, Axis My India’s Pradeep Gupta said that Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest may have galvanised the vote bank, which went against Reddy. The former Andhra Pradesh CM was arrested by the state CID in the skill development case in September 2023.
