Angelina Jolie has revealed the reason behind her appearance in less number of films in 2016. In an interview with Vogue Magazine she had a «lot of healing» to do «seven years ago».
While she chose not to divulge too much details, Jolie had filed for divorce to end marriage with Brad Pitt in September 2016.
48-year-old Jolie recently said this ahead of the upcoming launch of her «Atelier Jolie», a fashion line with a strong commitment to social and environmental consciousness.
Following her role in Disney's successful «Maleficent» in 2014 and an involvement in directing and co-starring alongside Brad Pitt in the less successful «By the Sea» in 2015, the Academy Award-winning actor's film career experienced a noticeable hiatus. Over the course of the past eight years, Jolie has only taken on two lead roles: one in 2019's «Maleficent: Mistress of Evil» and the other in 2021's «Those Who Wish Me Dead.» Apart from these, she had appeared in Marvel's 'Eternals' (2021) and the 2020 fantasy film «Come Away».
She also lent her voice to Disney's «The One and Only Ivan» (2020) and the forthcoming «Kung Fu Panda 4.»
Ever since Angelina Jolie unveiled her latest venture, Atelier Jolie, earlier this year, she has kept details about her sustainability-driven fashion studio relatively under wraps. The primary aspects known were its role as a creative incubator and its collaboration with the luxury fashion house Chloé.
However, in an extensive interview for the November issue of Vogue, the Academy Award-winning actor, filmmaker, and humanitarian has provided deeper insights into the project.
