Apple on Tuesday announced the launch of its much-anticipated products, the Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2 and the all new iPhone 15. The Cupertino, California-based company also brought to the fore its commitment to sustainability and maximising the use of recycled materials, and also said it would no longer use leather in any new Apple product.

iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro
- Apple launched the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, sporting 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays, respectively, like their predecessors.
- The new models feature a 48-megapixel main camera capable of a 2X telephoto option to capture photos and 4K video, and the new A16 bionic chips (chips with multiple processors and complex neural engines; neural engines are AI networks that help computers/GPUs process data like a human brain).
- Apple also switched to the USB-C charging standard from the Lightning port, in accordance with a European law. In addition, it said the iPhone 15’s battery is made of 100% recycled cobalt.
- The iPhone 15 starts at $799 and the iPhone 15 Plus at $899.
Apple Watch
- The Apple Watch Series 9 is powered by custom Apple silicon in the all-new S9 SiP. It also has a new 4-core neural engine that can process machine learning tasks twice as fast as the Apple Watch Series 8. The Series 9 starts at $399.
