The BJP government didn't pay attention in the last 9-10 years. I would request Congress to include this in the manifesto that Haryana will have the cleanest air," Hooda added. While speaking to news agency ANI, Rakesh, a morning walker in the area around Red Fort, said, "...Earlier, we used to walk to Jama Masjid from here, Bhagirath Palace, at around 4.30 am.
We could walk till 8-9 am. Now, we are able to wall only for half an hour because the pollution has increased...The main cause is vehicular movement..." The overall air qaulity in Mumbai stood at 139. As per SAFAR, areas like Andheri, Malad, Navi Mumbai, Colaba all recorded ‘moderate air’ with AQI stood at 195, 144, 132, 164 respectively.
BKC (Kalanagar) witnessed poor air with AQI at 205. As per SAFAR, AQI in Noida stood at 218 which is in 'Poor' category. An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
