G20 Summit will take place on September 9 and 10, 2023 in Delhi. The Delhi government has scheduled three days between September 8 and 10 as public holidays in due to the summit.
According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar, September 8 is a bank holiday in Delhi for the G20 Summit event.
While September 9th is the second Saturday and 10th is a Sunday, banks will be closed on these two days as well.
Oranisations which will be closed
All Government Departments, Offices, Organizations, Undertakings, Corporations, Boards, Statutory Bodies, Educational Institutions, etc. of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi.
All Private Offices, Educational or other Institutions (by whatsoever name) within National Capital Territory of Delhi.
All commercial banks and financial institutions situated within the jurisdiction of New Delhi Police District, which come under the purview of the Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881 (26 of 1881).
All shops, commercial and business establishments situated within the jurisdiction of New Delhi Police District.
According to the notification, “Public Holiday on 8th September, 2023 (Friday) in such offices wherein Saturday and Sunday are Public Holidays; followed by Public Holidays on 09th and 10th September, 2023 being Saturday and Sunday.
(b) Public Holidays on 8th and 9th September 2023 (Friday and Saturday) in such offices wherein Sunday is a Public Holiday; followed by Public Holiday on 10th September, 2023 being Sunday. and © Public Holiday on 10th September, 2023 in those commercial banks and and financial institutions wherein Sunday is not a Public Holiday.”
