The Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW) has reiterated several updates related to timelines for the completion of various activities and the timely distribution of pension benefits and gratuity on retirement on superannuation of a government servant.
The authorization of pensions and gratuities for retiring government employees is a crucial administrative process. To ensure a smooth transition from active service to retirement benefits, the Central Civil Service (Pension) Rules, 2021, outline a structured timeline for completing various activities. These timelines must be adhered to by different offices and authorities involved in the process.

Individuals who are retiring must make a note of these timelines for the smooth processing of payments. The DoPPW has issued a circular in this regard on October 25, 2024.
