Waris Punjab De' chief Amritpal Singh were admitted to hospital due to health issues.
Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal was admitted to hospital due to health issues caused by epilepsy. Another associate Gurmeet Singh was also admitted to the hospital for undisclosed health issues.
A senior police officer who does not want to be named said Dhaliwal was admitted to the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh on Tuesday due to complexities arising out of epilepsy. He is undergoing treatment and his health is stable now.”
On March 1, Gurpatwant Singh Pannu of the separatist Sikh for Justice asked to shift Waris Punjab De' chief Amritpal Singh and several of his aides who are lodged in Dibrugarh jail to Amritsar jail or face the consequence.
In a telephonic message Pannu asked the Assam chief minister to shift Amritpal and his aides to Punjab or he will have to face dire consequences. He also said that the organisation will lodge a complaint in the United Nations. He said that Singh, along with other detainees, are on an indefinite hunger strike.
In April last year similar threats were made to the chief minister. The outfit have offered to support the Paresh Baruah led United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA) if it holds a referendum for cessation from India.
