With less than two weeks remaining until the historic Ayodhya Ram Temple inauguration on January 22, the state tourism and culture minister, Jaiveer Singh, announced plans to introduce helicopter services to accommodate the anticipated influx of devotees.
The grand ceremony will witness the Pran Pratishtha of the new idol of Ram Lalla at the sanctum sanctorum, a momentous occasion set to be performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Singh confirmed on Monday (January 8) that helicopter services for devotees would commence before January 22, although a specific date was not provided. In addition to air services, plans are underway to introduce water services to facilitate the travel of devotees to the sacred city.
The minister assured that all necessary facilities would be provided to ensure a seamless experience for the devotees attending the inauguration.
To address the expected surge in the number of visitors, Singh announced an increase in railway capacity to further accommodate the influx of pilgrims traveling to Ayodhya for the momentous event. The multi-faceted approach to transportation aims to enhance accessibility and convenience for all attendees.
The focal point of the inauguration is the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, scheduled for January 22, during which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform the installation of the new idol of Ram Lalla at the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple.
In a significant gesture, PM Modi had earlier urged citizens to light a ‘Shri Ram Jyoti’ in their homes and celebrate Deepavali on the same day as the ceremony, emphasizing the historical importance of the event.
