rap icons have finally decided to bury their hatchet once and for all. At a Dehradun concert, Badshah extended an olive branch to fellow rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh. The ‘Genda Phool’ hitmaker paused his performance at GraFest 2024, and said he wanted to end the feud and attributed that they had a falling out due to misunderstandings.
“There was a phase in my life where I held this grudge against one, and now I want to call it quits and leave that grudge behind – and that’s Honey Singh. I was unhappy because of some misunderstanding but then I realised when we were together.Jodne waale bahut kam the, todne waale bahut the (The number of people wanting to break us apart outnumbered the number of people trying to unite). Today, I just want to let everyone know I’ve left that phase behind and I wish him all the best,” he said.
Both the rap icons started their careers together. They were a part of the rap group ‘Mafia Mundeer’ and released several hit songs such as ‘Khol Botal’, ‘Begani Naar’ ‘Buri’ and ‘Delhi Ke Deewane’, before leaving the group in 2009.
After a public dispute, they went their separate ways, continuing to taunt each other on social media. Their split fueled ongoing hostility, evident in the occasional critical lyrics they aimed at each other. Not too long ago, during a concert, rapper Badshah made a sly remark about Yo Yo Honey Singh after facing disapproval from his fans. He quipped, “Give me a pen and paper. I've brought a gift for you. I'll write some lyrics; your father will make his comeback."
