Barclays is set to hike bonus payments by more than 25% in its corporate and investment bank, as firms battle to retain top dealmakers amid a record deal boom.
The UK lender is joining Wall Street and European rivals by increasing variable pay, with the rise likely to be more than a quarter up on 2020 numbers, when the bank hiked bonuses by 10%, according to a person familiar with the matter.
